Successful agents work every day, but controlling your time and income are the best benefits of a career as a Realtor. Your sales volume should increase as your client base grows, but you should have at least 6 months worth of savings when you start.
While you’re spending money on broker fees and marketing, you’re not make money until a closing, and then you have to pay for your own insurance and pay your quarterly taxes. Real estate is competitive, so be prepared to face rejection and move on. Plan to work every weekend for the first couple of years and treat your days as if you had to answer to a boss. Be prepared, show up and get to work.
Real estate is a rewarding career but it’s harder work than most people see from the outside.
